I recently moved home to the west Chicago suburbs after living in Colorado for the last 10 years. When asked I used to tell people that I really didn’t think that I had changed that much, but I think that it takes moving back to your childhood home to realize just how different you are.
During my time spent in Colorado I had the opportunity to explore many things and have become interested in green living, which is now becoming oh so trendy! Now don’t get me wrong I am far from perfect but I do try to be conscientious with recycling, biodegradable cleanind products, etc. and along with this I’ve started paying a lot more attention to what I put in and on my body.
As part of my food strategy (that I didn’t really realize that I adapted until I moved back) I no longer eat foods that contain High Fructose Corn Syrup which includes (sigh) most commercial soda. The compromise to this is that I calm my occasional soda cravings with wondrous Jones Cane Soda, which in Colorado I could find almost anywhere including that hated Wal-mart. Knowing this I wrongly thought that this product would be just as easy to procure in IL. So the hunt is on…
